Chris Choi, PhD, is a bicultural and bilingual consultant and scholar specializing in cross-cultural awareness and promotion. Her ability to reach a wide range of demographics effectively has led to fruitful relationships with artists and attorneys, teens and teachers, philanthropists and proprietors. She has also worked with various corporations and organizations to improve their intercultural or international communication and outreach, and advises individuals on achieving their educational goals.
An accomplished and assiduous literary translator from her days in academia, Dr. Choi has published English translations of Korean poetry, fiction, and biography. She has expanded her practice to translating other types of documents as well as videos. She is also a gifted interpreter, working in a variety of fields and settings including entertainment, academia, business, and government.
Another long-continued practice is teaching college students, which Dr. Choi began as a college sophomore herself. She has served as a recurring guest lecturer at Boston College on classical music, film, and Korean literature. Other schools where she has taught or helped teach classes include Tufts University, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Before co-founding Educhora, Dr. Choi received her PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard, and a Master’s in Regional Studies–East Asia, also from Harvard. Before that, she studied Materials Science and Engineering at MIT, earning another Master’s as well as a Bachelor’s, with a Minor in Music. She is a fan of sports and fashion.
